R&B singer Monica Brown gave her faithful fans the news they’ve been waiting for on Sunday.
The mother of 3 announced the release date for her long-anticipated LP Code Red.
Code Red is set for a Dec. 18 release in stores and on iTunes. Monica made the announcement on her Facebook page on Sunday. She also leaked a snippet of a new track off the album.
In anticipation of Code Red‘s release, Monica is embarking on a 22-city Code Red “small arena” tour to promote the album.
The tour kicks off in Las Vegas on Nov. 12 and wraps in New York City on Dec. 13. Code Red drops 5 days later.
Monica and her record label is hoping that a pre-album tour will boost album sales for Code Red, like Janet Jackson‘s sold out arena tour did for her #1 album, Unbreakable.
But the lack of a red hot single will significantly hurt Monica’s album sales. Music critics are predicting sales figures of 35K-75K. Excellent numbers for a newcomer, but not for a Grammy winner whose golden pipes can run circles around Adele, Beyonce and Rihanna.
