30 Female Students to Be Charged in Massive Fight Over One Boy

30 female students at a Pittsburgh area school will be charged with taking part in a massive brawl that started with a fight over one boy.

Police responded to multiple calls about a huge fight at University Prep School in Pittsburgh’s Hill District Monday morning.

The school was placed on lock down and parents were told not to come to the school to pick up their children. School officials sent the 30 girls home or to area hospitals for treatment of minor injuries. One teen suffered an asthma attack during the brawl.

The school provides preparatory education for inner city black students in grades 6 though 12 from the Pittsburgh Hill District.

The lockdown was lifted at 11 a.m. after the warring students were removed from the school.

One parent who was interviewed outside the school said the fight started in a hallway near her 17-year-old daughter’s classroom. Her daughter was not one of the combatants.

The woman said her daughter called her on her cell phone to report a big fight outside her classroom. She said one girl was “bleeding everywhere.”

Update on Joey: Soooo… he graduated from basic training and is now in the AIT phase (the school you attend to learn whatever job you chose)… I speak to him regularly and he REALLY sounds like a different person. The once passive, (translation: I don’t give a damn about nothin’…what time is EVERYTHING going to be over because I have stuff to do) person I knew is sounding like a grown man on his grown man $hit. I’m SO proud of my “baby”… 20 years old, and finally getting it. He texts me every few days to tell me when he’s had test. He is actually disappointed in himself when he gets an 85 because he felt like he should’ve gotten a 100… and y’all KNOW that ain’t my baby. I intend to write a strongly worded letter to the post commander to find out if they’ve been beating my baby or something because he is truly a different person. A better man. But I guess I’m so used to having to fuss and cuss and not having to is further confirmation that my baby is morphing into a grown man…

We need to redirect our energy and focus on this problem and not BLM which is targeting cops. Cops are not our worse enemy, We are our own worst enemy. It’s sad to type that statement, but it’s the truth. We don’t even greet one another, instead we give each other the stink eye. Although I do agree with some of what you are saying….I also think people forget that sometimes as teachers we forget that there are SOME teachers who are biased, rude, & disrespectful to their students….. to get respect you have to earn it & give it to others, including students! I’m not saying kiss their butts, just don’t treat everyone the same just because they have a difficult job….. many of us chose to teach because we wanted to make a difference…. but I’ve seen many teachers take their own frustrations out on the students they are supposed to be helping…. yes parents should discipline their children when they lash out behaviorally, but its also their job to protect them too….I have experienced both sides….as a teacher & mother of a young AA male….. teachers will call me on some petty stuff “he got out of his seat”…” he’s talking” ….but when an issue arises regarding grades or testing….” crickets”….
