All 3 Gladys Knight’s Chicken and Waffles Locations in Atlanta Closed After Raids

Gladys Knight

State and city authorities raided all 3 locations of Gladys Knight’s popular Chicken and Waffles restaurants in Atlanta on Tuesday.

The AJC.com reports that agents from the Georgia Department of Revenue raided the locations in connection with an investigation by the GDR.

The Atlanta Police Department assisted in the raid, Channel 2 Actions News reported.

Gladys Knight's son, who runs the franchises, is under investigation in a tax case involving $1 million. Gladys Knight is not under investigation, the AJC reports.

All 3 Chicken and Waffles locations were closed following the raids.

The restaurants will reopen on Thursday under state control, Channel 2 Action News reported.

    Well my husband is white and he owns a small business and he didn't pay his taxes because he's a procrastinator and he called me one day saying the IRS froze all his business accounts after taking a large sum of money. It took me days to sort this whole mess out and get the accounts back for payroll etc. It's not about race it's about the IRS wanting every cent of their money.

    Gladys has a small ownership. Her son obviously is having money flow problems, which is normal for most restaurants. It's a hard business.

I didn't get it from the auto, this was a magazine. Again, it was long ago, so I won't quote it verbatim, but that is one thing I won't forget. I haven't any problems with Gladys. I feel bad she can't get a break after all the success she's had as an artist. Some people just have a Murphy's Law cloud over their heads. I can relate.

    I know a young lady who wears a Depends to the casino not due to incontinence, but just in case she has a slot she likes, has to go to the bathroom and does not have to get up in order to do so. She just goes in the Depends. ? When she first told me I just looked at her, but then it made sense how she could drink, stay on the machine for hours and never get up. She just pees...right there...without a care.

    Maybe that could be a marketing strategy on both ends? Get a buffet, $30 comp...and a Depends.

The food was ok but it's messed up he would tarnish his moms name. This should hv been passed down thru the generations Just think about how many people are out of work
