Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams will not lose his job for speaking out of turn at the BET Awards last month.
Williams, who is half white, called out white people for appropriating black music for fame and profit.
He also showed support for social media militants, Black Lives Matter, saying, “We know that police somehow manage to de-escalate, disarm and not kill white people every day.”
A petition was circulated online calling series creator Shonda Rhimes to fire Williams from ‘Anatomy’.
In response to the petition, Rhimes, a self-hating closeted lesbian who is reportedly bleaching her skin, tweeted: “Um, people? Boo don’t need a petition. #shondalandrules”
Williams plays Dr. Avery Jackson on the ABC scripted TV series.
