Congratulations to Soul singer Solange Knowles! Her album Seat at the Table tops the Bilboard album chart without her sister Beyonce‘s help or influence.
I bet Beyonce is somewhere celebrating that she no longer has to support her baby sister financially.
Pitchfork — Solange’s latest album A Seat at the Table has claimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, Billboard reports. The album sold 72,000 equivalent album units with 46,000 of those in traditional album sales. A Seat at the Table is Solange’s first album to reach No. 1. Previously, her highest charting album was 2008’s Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams, which peaked at No. 9. Bon Iver’s new album 22, A Million, which was predicted for a No. 1 debut, charted at No. 2 with 71,000 units.
