17-year-old Reginae Carter upbraided rap mogul T.I. Harris, 36, after the rapper rebuked her father, Li’l Wayne, on social media.
In a post on Instagram.com, T.I. admonished Li’l Wayne, 34, for going on ABC’s Nightline and saying he was not “connected” to the insolent Black Lives Matter movement.
“I don’t feel connected to a damn thing that ain’t got nothin’ to do with me,” Wayne said on Nightline.
After reminding Wayne that his daughters practically grew up together, T.I. wrote, “nigga U TRIPPIN!!!!”
Reginae was upset that T.I. chastised her daddy publicly rather than privately by text message.
What? “You lost his number?” she wrote in the comments section of T.I.’s post.
The youngster accused T.I. of “seeking attention” on social media by criticizing her father publicly.
Wayne reportedly tried to stop Nightline from airing the inflammatory interview.
He eventually fired his publicist for failing to talk him out of doing the interview in the first place.
Hopefully, T.I. will realize that Reginae spoke from an emotional place as most teenagers tend to do.
Cooler heads will prevail, and T.I. will understand that Li’l Wayne has as much right to his opinion as everyone else.
