income tax refund

Facebook users are praising a single mother-of-2 after a Facebook post about her tax refund went viral.

Christina Knaack posted a photo of her $5,600 tax refund receipt along with an inspirational message for other single moms about setting their priorities straight.

Knaack’s message read:

“I got back $5,600 on my taxes. Instead of buying my kids the latest Jordans or fancy electronics, I paid my rent for the year… This means I will have that extra $450 a month to do things with my kids.”

She added that her priorities are feeding her children and keeping a roof over their heads.

Knaack wrote the post on Wednesday, and by Thursday, the post received more than 26,000 comments.

Knaack, who is Caucasian, told WHNS she is raising a 4-month-old and 2-year-old on a minimum-wage job.

“It’s pretty crazy,” she said about the public response to her post. “I was just sharing a milestone with my friends and family.”
