A Mississippi deputy sheriff is suing disgraced R&B singer R. Kelly for cheating with his wife and allegedly giving her the STD Chlamydia.
Kenny Bryant filed the lawsuit on April 21 citing “alienation of affection” from his wife, Asia Childress.
Bryant is accusing the Chicago native of having an adulterous relationship with Childress, who then contracted the STD during the course of their affair.
Bryant admits he and Childress were having marital problems after they tied the knot in July 2012. But Bryant says he and his wife were working on their marriage when Kelly stepped into the picture.
In court documents, Bryant explained how his wife convinced him to move to Atlanta for her job in 2012.
He said he agreed to move but he was unable to find “profitable employment” in Atlanta.
Bryant said it soon dawned on him why his wife wanted to move; to be closer to Kelly.
Bryant soon discovered Childress and Kelly had been seeing each other for 5 years — the entire duration of his marriage.
“Each time R. Kelly would have a concert in a nearby state, Childress would disappear to unite with her lover,” Bryant’s lawyer said in court papers. “Time after time, R. Kelly cuckolded Bryant, with blatant disregard for Bryant’s and Childress’ vows.”
Bryant is seeking damages for wrecking his marriage and the loss of income from his job. Additionally, Bryant said he suffered “emotional, psychological and financial loss” due to Kelly’s actions.
