Teresa Martin hurried to the Crowne Plaza hotel where she asked hotel staff to review the surveillance footage to help find her missing daughter (pictured above).
But the hotel staff told the frantic mother that she would need a warrant for that.
Teresa called the police to report her daughter missing and to relay her suspicions that her daughter was still in the hotel.
Around 1:15 P.M. on Saturday afternoon — hours after Kenneka was reported missing, police finally conducted a search of the hotel. After searching for several hours, police told Kenneka’s mother they did not see her in the footage from any of the hotel’s surveillance cameras.
But Teresa’s mother refused to give up searching for her child. She left the hotel and returned with concerned friends and family determined to find Kenneka.
They began knocking on hotel room doors, asking guests if they had seen or heard anything out of the ordinary late Friday or early Saturday morning,
The hotel staff called the police, complaining that Teresa and her search team were disturbing the hotel guests.
The responding officer — bless his heart — listened to Teresa’s tearful pleas and took it upon himself to review the hotel surveillance footage for any signs of Kenneka.
After reviewing the hotel video footage for several hours, police caught a break.
