^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Damn near historic to have this much melanin in the nominee pool
I’m not sure I’d even classify some of this garbage as “music”.
So dope to picture dad singing it lol
Sassy – Rapsody
Laila’s Wisdom – Rapsody
NC better STAND UP. I see you girl. So proud of ya!!!!!!!!!!!!
I haven’t been into awards shows since the 1990’s. I watched the Soul Train awards and was bored spit less!
Jay-z is pushing 60 and needs to sit down and stop calling himself a rapper. He is more like an AARP spokesperson.
I like Bruno Mars music but I am constantly hearing the word “plagiarism” associated with his music and where there is smoke there usually is fire so for that reason, I look at him sideways. Why not just pay someone what’s fair to use their music and songs rather than steal it. That’s when you lose my vote.
Don’t listen to Kendrick’s music so no comment.
Why not just pay someone what’s fair to use their music and songs rather than steal it.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^
This is what the writers of her epic Grammy winning songs…asked Lauryn Hill in court documents
Hey, if your ass get caught and sued and it is proven you did in fact steal the music then you need to pay – including Lauryn Hill.
JayZ will be there as he is every year doing all that wierd shxt they like to get into on Grammy night
We just saw a story on here saying he was performing in empty arenas on his tour and now we see best album. Not that I have an issue with Jay but it can’t be both. Empty arenas but best album. If the people like it they will show up. Sooooo what’s wrong with this picture.
@tracie_shaw:disqus …I believe you are on to something… excellent observation.
Auntie, What happened to the Emojis?????
Rapping has no experation date ?!!! All it is, is spitting poetry floetically!! And hip hop has evolved for many different age groups. It can be fun serious about love or life. You can never b too old for hip hop or rap! It’s an Og thing. For some artist that’s there passion! So if u think YOUR too old for that type of music then that’s YOU!! He is doing what he loves and is passionate about and there is a lot of ppl OLD and young that still can relate to his music new and old! And loves it!! His new album is for mature mfz!! He can do it till he’s 99 that is his business and his loyalty!! #YouCantKnockTheHustle
Not sure where you heard empty stadiums, but his Dallas show was sold out and packed.
The Grammy nominations are voted by a committee. It doesn’t have to do with tours or how many albums or seats that have been sold. I have a friend that is on that committee.
My dad (64 y.o.) loves Redbone, too.
sounds about right.
Pure Heroine was hard.
I haven’t listened to Lorde’s new album yet though.
Congrats to Kendrick,Jay,Bruno,SZA,and Donald. Does Bruno have enough Puerto Rican in him to claim it? Just asking seeing as his dad is half Jewish and his mom is Filipino.
I loved Bruno, Kendick and Jay’s cds. Well deserved nods.
Thanks for clearing that up. I was confused.
Go back to the week’s before posts. It was on HERE! I’m just speaking on what I read on THIS site previously. Not a rap fan so I don’t care either way.
Like him
60 ?? You tried it and i lived for it ???
Hes the one that said he was done with rap like 5 albums ago.
Go Bruno! He’s my boyfriend! LOL! I don’t know how some of those others made the list. I do like Ed Sheeran and Alessia Cara though. I’m starting to think rap music should just go away. I can’t understand what they are saying half the time, most rappers can’t speak clear and correct English. Sad. Good luck to all the nominees though!
Tell your friend to make sure Bruno wins all of his categories!!! LOL! So I guess Tamar’s album came out too late to be considered??? I guess we might see her nominated next term.
It comforts me that I don’t know who a majority of these “people” are — Vegas style showgirls and gold teeth.
Jay Z and Beyonce keep buying these Grammy nods. Kendrick Lamar and Bruno deserve theirs. I really need Jay Z to go rest his old knees. He’s almost 50…too old for the game. Just too old.
Jewish is a religion tho. His dad is Puerto Rican being we get the majority of our lineage from our fathers’ YES, he does. He can claim whatever he wants.
There is no way Jay Z should beat out these two young very talented guys. Bruno Mars write his own songs, plays numerous instruments, dances and sings. What’s the gig – bribery, money, Live Nation buying awards???
But his father is labeled as being half Puerto Rican and half Ashkenazi Jew. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/f97271856a62847f660f09e8d5d2d76e31b8d648b5edec6cf0ec51fd278a07e6.jpg
Jewish is a religion. Anyone can be Jewish. Bruno’s dad has that from his mother (Bruno’s grandmother.) His grandpa is also Puerto Rican again it goes back to lineage of the father.
I want to know why Google has Jay Z’s age as 47 when he’s really 52. Jay Z was 36 years old in 2001…according to Nas’s “Ether” lyrics lol
How is Bruno Mars in the R&B section? I like his music but it’s definitely more pop. We let these award shows get away with calling anything R&B. We should have stopped them back when they were nominating Usher for all those pop songs in the R&B category.
Side note: I only know 4 of the songs listed “Redbone”, “24K Magic”, “Bodak Yellow” and “That’s What I Like”. I am not familiar with any of the albums.
Am I missing something with this Cardi B girl? I seriously do not understand the hype. That song is not worthy of a Grammy nomination in my opinion.
MJ is where it went crazy they called all his music r&b instead of pop and the rest was history.
That song is lit
MJ’s “Thriller” album was R&B. The “Bad” album is when it got poppy lol
Sorry, Bruno fan he is just so Old school. Love is music, dance moves where he has studied MJ and James Brown. Sorry never have been a J-Z fan, or a Kanye West fan.
4:44 shouldn’t win
I just watched his live concert at the Apollo and I mean…1st off depending on the lighting and angles he was looking JEST like black MJ. Studied the great legendary Prince AND James Brown. This young man is IT and his songs are relateable to EVERYONE
