Jon Venables

An unrepentant child killer wants a British court to pay for plastic surgery after his identity was exposed by a British actress. Jon Venables (pictured) was only 10 years old when he and another 10-year-old, Robert Thompson, kidnapped 2-year-old James Bulger from a shopping center and murdered him in 1993.

Now 35, Venables’ identity was revealed after a TV actress Tina Malone retweeted his picture to her followers, UK’s Mirror reports.

In 1993, Venables and Thompson, both 10, told detectives they went to a shopping mall to find a child to torture and kill.

They spotted Bulger and followed him and his mother around the shopping center. When she was momentarily distracted, Venables and Thompson approached Bulger and led him out of the mall.

The scene was captured on CCTV footage. Venables is the boy seen on CCTV video leading Bulger by the hand while Thompson walked in front of them.

After sexually molesting Bulger at nearby railroad tracks, the boys beat Bulger with rocks, sticks and an iron crowbar. Then they placed him across the railroad tracks, hoping a train would hit him to make the grisly murder look like an accident.

A pathologist later testified that, mercifully, little Bulger was already dead before the train ran over him and cut his body in half.

Venables and Thompson were convicted of abduction and murder and sentenced to detention until they were 18.

At the time of their convictions they were the youngest murderers in English history.

A parole board made the unpopular decision to release the two killers into society when they turned 18. They were given new identities to conceal their murderous pasts.

Venables was later arrested in 2008 and sent to prison after he was found with over 1,000 graphic images of children in his possession.

He was released on parole again in 2013. But he was back behind bars by November 2017 when he was caught with more child p0rn.

Venables, who is still serving time on his latest charge, is asking a court to pay for his plastic surgery to protect him from the public when he is released again.

He was moved to another prison after inmates beat and tortured him when they discovered his identity.

A prison source told the Daily Star: “Venables said he doesn’t care what or who he looks like or what it costs. He says it’s a necessity to stay alive and his right.”

Tina Malone, who retweeted Venables’ picture, told the Star on Sunday: “I didn’t have a clue it was illegal. What are you going to do, prosecute me for posting a picture? I didn’t realize.”

The child killer has cost taxpayers over $360,000 USD in legal aid so far.
