A Miami man who advertised Botox injections under the handle “master injector” on Instagram.com was arrested for practicing medicine without a license.
Samir El Charif, 29, called himself a doctor and posted photos of his patients on Instagram.com. An investigation into Charif’s illegal activities began in February when someone complained to the Florida Department of Health about an unlicensed doctor operating 2 clinics, according to NBC Miami.
Undercover detectives swooped in after making an appointment for a Botox procedure at one of Charif’s clinics.
“Unlicensed doctors are not bargain doctors, they are simply NOT doctors. Don’t risk your health,” Doral police tweeted on Wednesday.
Charif is the second fake doctor to be arrested in Florida in the past 2 years.
Malachi A. Love-Robinson, now 20, was arrested in 2016 for operating an urgent care clinic in Palm Beach County. “Dr. Love,” as he dubbed himself, was sentenced to 3 years in prison in January.
