The royal couple was the subject of pregnancy rumors for months. Last month Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, took an elite babysitting course in California before flying to London to assume her royal duty as head nanny.

Ragland’s rep released her statement on Monday, saying “Ms. Ragland is very happy about this lovely news and she looks forward to welcoming her first grandchild.”

Now the royal couple can go about their lives without the pressure to produce a heir.

Prince Harry, 34, and Meghan Markle, 37, are currently touring down under in Australia.
