The backlash begins against Tekashi69, the troubled rapper who was scheduled to perform in concert at Howard University‘s Homecoming. His concert was canceled minutes before the doors opened.
On Friday, a New York Superior Court judge sentenced the 22-year-old rapper to four years probation for using a child for indecent purposes in an adult film.
Echostage, the company that promoted the Howard concert, announced the concert was canceled just minutes before the doors opened over the weekend.
“Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Tekashi69 concert tonight has been canceled.” They said in a statement.
Apparently, a protest against the troubled rapper — and poor ticket sales — were enough to persuade the promoter to cancel the concert.
To boost ticket sales, the promoter even planned a $5,000 Halloween costume contest, but that wasn’t enough for students to forget that a culture vulture and gang banger walked free after taking advantage of a minor child.
Students at Howard University have morals and a sense of common decency.
But one ticket holder complained that she put in time to dress her little brother up as Tekashi, and she was bitter that the concert was canceled.
