Marc Lamont Hill

CNN cut ties with longtime political commentator Marc Lamont Hill following statements he made about replacing Israel with a Palestine that stretched from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea.

“Marc Lamont Hill is no longer under contract with CNN,” a spokesperson confirmed to Mediaite.com.

According to published reports, Hill, 39, urged countries to boycott Israel in a speech on Wednesday. He called for a “free Palestine from the river to the sea.”

Hill’s comments sparked an uproar on social media. Many Twitter users directed their anger towards CNN’s Twitter feed, urging the cable news network to fire the outspoken political commentator.

“From the river to the sea” is a phrase used by Hamas and other anti-Israel terror groups, according to Mediaite.

In addition to being a CNN political commentator, Hill also teaches Media Studies and Urban Education at Temple University. He is a BET News correspondent and he hosts VH1 Live! reunion shows for Basketball Wives.

In his private life, Hill is known to be a ladies man.

Several years ago, a blogger revealed two well-known female journalists were publicly fighting over the handsome professor.

One of the journalists — a very well known public speaker and author — reached out to the blogger and begged her to take the story down because she had a school age daughter who reads the blogs.
