Anchor Gayle King might be ousted from her cushy job at CBS during the morning show shakeup following the exit of co-anchor Charlie Rose in November 2017.
According to Page Six, Gayle is “furious” after the exit of her executive producer, Ryan Kadro, who was given his walking papers when CBS chief Les Moonves was fired amid sexual harassment complaints.
“Gayle is furious. She very much has had to hold everything together on the show. But she’s particularly upset that Ryan is leaving — and that he was mistakenly linked with the CBS payoffs,” an insider tells Page Six.
“It remains to be seen what she’ll do, and what her future is at CBS,” said the source.
Meanwhile, insiders are hopeful that the shakeup at CBS won’t force Gayle out the door. They hope the top female executives — including Gayle — will benefit from the long-awaited probe into the alleged sexual misconduct of Rose, Moonves and “60 Minutes” producer Jeff Fager when it is finally released.
A source tells Page Six: “There are all these very smart, ambitious women who could definitely benefit from seeing the company restructured.”
As most of you know, Gayle was the beneficiary of her position at CBS thanks to her close friendship with media mogul Oprah Winfrey.
If Gayle is ousted at CBS, she has a parking spot with her name on it at Oprah’s OWN Studios.
