Wendy Williams addressed speculation that she is too weak to stand during her popular daytime show, The Wendy Williams Show. Viewers noticed the 54-year-old talk show Diva sitting in a chair for extended periods of time.
Wendy also sits during product demos with guests, which is unusual because she normally stands.
Rumors swirled that Wendy is sitting because she suffers from chronic fatigue related to her health problems. She also collapsed onstage during an episode of her show last year.
Wendy, who was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, addressed the speculation about her health status during her show on Tuesday.
“So, it has come to my attention, um, that you all are noticing that I sit… a lot,” she said. “I have several seats. I sit in the audience; I sit to do demo products… You know why? Because I want to.”
She added: “Because this is my show, and this is how I want to do it… In terms of how I feel, I’m feeling swell.”
Wendy also blamed her frequent airline travel, saying flying in and out of town leaves her exhausted.
“Look, there is not a talk show host, day or night that does it better than me,” she said as her audience cheered.
