When is it okay for a grown man to call another man “daddy”? That’s the question many on social media are asking after Sean Combs called rapper Meek Mill “daddy” before telling him he loved him.

Sean Combs, also known as Puff Daddy or P. Diddy, caused a minor stir when he uploaded a video of Meek relaxing in his pool. We don’t know what Sean said to Meek before he actually started recording, but Meek looked uncomfortable.

In the video, Sean is heard calling the 32-year-old rapper “king” and praising his work.

“You deserve it, daddy. You puttin’ in that work. Proud of you. I love you,” Sean added.

The 49-year-old media mogul has been plagued by ghey rumors for most of his career. The video did nothing to dispel the rumors.

The comments under the video focused on whether it is ever appropriate for a grown man to refer to another man as his daddy.

One Instagram user wrote, “Diddy really called this dude meek daddy”.

Another user wrote, “Naw ain’t no ni** I appreciate enough to call him daddy or let him call me daddy unless he my father or my son foh [sic]”.

And a third IG user said, “Thats love appreciate ya ppl while they’re here”.

Question for the men: would you call another man “daddy”?
