Kevin Durant shared a photo from his hospital bed where he is recovering after undergoing surgery on his right Achilles heel.
The NBA star shared a photo from his hospital bed on Wednesday and declared, “I DID rupture my Achilles. Surgery was today and it was a success, EASY MONEY.”
KD added that, “I’m hurting deeply, but I’m OK. Basketball is my biggest love and I wanted to be out there that night because that’s what I do. I wanted to help my teammates on our quest for the three peat.”
It isn’t clear if his leg was hurt or his feelings.
Durant was the subject of ridicule and scorn after he went down 2 minutes into the 2nd quarter during Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday.
Fans immediately accused the Warriors star of flopping and faking his injury to close out the chapter on the Warriors and collect a max contract with another NBA team.
After hobbling out of the arena on crutches, Durant took to Instagram to say he was “hurting deep in the soul”. But some social media users had their doubts that he was really injured at all.
The ridicule got so bad, that his mother Wanda Durant was forced to defend her son from the Internet trolls.
“For ALL of you who question my son as a Man, question his Heart, question his Integrity and question his LOVE for the game of basketball, you DON’T know him. He has a heart of a true Warrior! This too shall pass. God Bless you ALL.”
Game 6 of the NBA Finals is tonight, June 13, in Oakland, California.
