Teairra Mari has had a rough year. First she lost a lawsuit to loan shark 50 Cent, and on Saturday, she was arrested for driving while under the influence.
Police sources tell TMZ the Love and Hip Hop reality TV star was pulled over after sparks were seen shooting from the front end of her car while she drove out of the Midtown Tunnel heading into Queens, New York on Sunday.
Police said the front right tire on her car was gone, and the bumper made contact with the ground which caused the sparks. Once police pulled her over, Mari was issued a sobriety test, which she allegedly failed.
TMZ noted she stumbled out of her car and her breath reportedly reeked of alcohol. The 31-year-old singer was charged with driving on a suspended license according to DMV records. She is currently awaiting arraignment.
Mari is a singer-songwriter from Detroit who released her self-titled debut album when she was 16. She collaborated with other artists including rappers Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj, Gucci Mane and singer Sammie.
She also appeared in the movie Lottery Ticket with former kiddie rapper Bow Wow.
