Nicki Minaj takes on rap rival Cardi B on her new Dancehall track “Megatron”. The single is Nicki’s first release of 2019, since she took time off to plot her career comeback.

The 36-year-old Trinidadian-born rapper, whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj, was dethroned by newcomer Cardi B, best known for her 2017 summer anthem “Bodak Yellow”.

In the video, Nicki puts the moves on her boyfriend, registered sex offender Kenneth Petty. There are numerous scenes of the couple grinding in a hot tub, as she raps about his criminal past.

She also touches on rumors that she nearly entered rehab for a drinking problem.

“Shots, shots, shots, I’m drinkin’ / It’s better when I’m drinkin’ / I tune up when I’m drinkin'”

“Megatron” was co-written by Minaj, Brittany “Chi” Coney, Denisia “Blu Jones” Andrews, Haldane Wayne Browne, and Andrew “Pop” Wansel.
