Yesterday, I told you about a new Internet challenge called #AgeChallenge where social media users submit their photos to an app that uses artificial intelligence to make users look old.

Celebrities such as Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, and Drake posted the hilarious results of their time travel images on social media. Rapper Drake (pictured) posted an image that makes him look 45 years old. He promised 2 concert tickets to any Instagram user who wrote the best photo caption.

But now comes a warning that FaceApp is causing privacy issues for users.

The Russian-made app has sparked a plethora of warnings about what the Russians may be doing with your photos.

According to The Independent, “When users submit a photo to the app to change how it looks, it makes its way onto FaceApp’s servers [in Russia]. And it is not entirely clear what is happening when it does.”

Numerous users have pointed out that the terms and conditions give the app developers wide permissions to do whatever they want with your photos.

Even more troubling, the company’s privacy policy makes clear that it is able to collect and store information from your phone, including your phone contacts and emails, and that your photos might be used for ads or other forms of marketing in Russia.

As the old saying goes, if it looks too good to be true…
