Jermaine Dupri is making blog headlines again after he appeared to throw shade at one-hit wonder Lil Nas X. Dupri came under fire when he called today’s female rappers glorified “strippers”. Now he is going in on Nas X, whose song “Old Town Road” is arguably the most popular record of all time.

After Nas X surpassed Mariah Carey for most consecutive weeks at #1 on Billboard, Dupri added his voice to the chorus of critics who believe the hip-hop country singer is not worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as Mariah Carey.

J.D. took to Instagram and appeared to diss the openly ghey country singer.

“No!! You can’t sit with us, go sit over there and based on the stats and this chart @mariahcarey is the greatest song writer in history,” he wrote.

JD’s followers immediately assumed he was referring to Nas X – and they were right. But JD quickly denied it.

“Why y’all think I’m talking to him? Stop making sh*t up, he’s on the list and he from Atlanta, I’m taking to all the ni–as that discredit me, this list is the biggest songs in history and I’m on it !!”

JD knows a thing or 2 about hit records. He produced hit songs for artists such as Mariah and Usher Raymond that – unlike “Old Town Road” – will stand the test of time.
