Cardi B and Chance the Rapper are convinced that President Donald Trump is heading for an easy re-election next year.
Cardi and Chance said during Tip “T.I.” Harris’s ExpediTIously podcast on Tuesday that President Trump has a big voter base that will give the U.S. leader an easy re-election.
The three rappers were promoting their Netflix competition reality TV series Rhythm + Flow.
“You all can quote me on this a couple of years down the line,” Chance the Rapper said. “I think Trump is going to win again at the next election because he’s got the biggest base.”
“He does. I believe it,” said Cardi B, citing the passion of Trump supporters.
“I really hate to say it, but sometimes I do believe that Trump will be winning,” Cardi added. The 27-year-old rapper noted that none of the Democratic candidates have achieved the level of support that Trump has among his loyal base.
“Just because due to the fact that every single time I don’t see nobody saying they love a Democratic candidate,” she said. “There’s no candidate that people are saying like we love, we want them to win.
“A lot of people vote with feelings in America and a lot of their feelings is racism and religion,” she added.
Cardi is a vocal supporter of independent Bernie Sanders who recently suffered a heart attack that may limit his appearances on the campaign trail.
President Trump won a small victory on Tuesday when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced she will not hold a floor vote to authorize an official impeachment inquiry.
“There is no requirement that we have a vote and so at this time we will not be having a vote,” Pelosi said in a press briefing following a meeting with House Democrats on Tuesday.
Trump came under fire by the Democrats for asking a foreign power to investigate corruption by presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, who is accused of using his father’s position as vice president to accept millions of dollars from foreign powers. A practice known as “influence peddling.”
Political analysts predicted the Democrats would not follow through with the impeachment inquiry into Trump, since it would cause a distraction for Joe Biden and the other Democratic candidates on the campaign trail.
