NY Mag writer Jeffrey Toobin was suspended by the NY Post after he was caught pleasuring himself during a Zoom call between colleagues and WYNC workers.

Toobin, who also serves as CNN’s chief legal analyst, was caught masturbating during a Zoom call.

According to an update from Vice.com, “This piece has been updated with more detail about the call and the headline has been updated to reflect that Toobin was masturbating.”

Toobin apologized in a statement to Vice. “I made an embarrassingly stupid mistake, believing I was off-camera. I apologize to my wife, family, friends and co-workers.”

The 60-year-old journalist added: “I believed I was not visible on Zoom. I thought no one on the Zoom call could see me. I thought I had muted the Zoom video.”

A spokeswoman for the magazine said, “Jeffrey Toobin has been suspended while we investigate the matter.”

Toobin is best known for his coverage of the OJ Simpson trial as a staff writer for The New Yorker magazine in the 1990s.

Toobin, who hasn’t tweeted since Oct. 13, appeared as a legal analyst on CNN on Saturday, but he has since taken leave to deal with his personal problems.

“Jeff Toobin has asked for some time off while he deals with a personal issue, which we have granted,” CNN said in a statement on Monday.

Toobin has served as CNN’s Senior Legal Analyst since 2002.
