Serena Williams lost in straight sets to Katerina Siniakova in round 2 of the Emilia-Romagna Open in Parma, Italy on Tuesday.
She was the top seed going into the second round when she lost to 18-year-old Katerina, 7-6 (7-4) 6-2.
Serena was invited to play in Parma after losing in the opening round at the Italian Open last week.
The 39-year-old mom-of-one has less than two weeks to prepare for the start of the French Open on May 30.
Serena has lost the last three Slam final events as she struggles to draw even with Australian tennis legend Margaret Court's record 24 Grand Slams.
The curvy tennis champ was criticized on Black Twitter for apparently bleaching her skin in preparation for the next chapter of her life after she hangs up her tennis rackets for good.
One Twitter user wrote: "Man did Serena Williams really bleach her skin? I knew it was going left after she married ol boy," referring to Serena's Caucasian husband, Alexis Ohanian.
Another user tweeted, "Serena Williams bleach her skin smh ... wow that's nasty for real."
The only time they care about colorism is when dark skin women bleach their skin. Last week they were pretend caring, literally writing paragraphs about how Serena Williams is a "self hating bedwench". With this situation they seem to care more about the colorist than the victims
