R&B songstress Ashanti was honored with her very own star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, April 7, in Hollywood, Ca.
Ashanti, 41, was first discovered as a teenager and later signed to Murder Inc. Records in 2002. She’s best known for being featured on Fat Joe‘s single “What’s Luv?” and Ja Rule‘s hit “Always on Time.”
Her own hit singles include “Foolish”, which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard chart in 2002, “Happy”, “Baby”, “Rock Wit U (Awww Baby)”, and “Rain On Me”, all of which landed in the Top 10 on Billboard.
Ashanti’s self-titled debut album has been certified triple platinum and sold six million copies worldwide.
The R&B singer, born Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, was joined by her mother, Tina Douglas, her father, Ken-Kaide Thomas Douglas, and her adorable sister, Kenashia “Shia” Douglas, at her Hollywood Walk of Fame Star ceremony on Thursday, April 7.
