Oklahoma City police are investigating the fatal shooting and partial dismemberment of a woman in her apartment early Friday.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 call around 1:30 a.m. from a woman who said she just shot somone at the Bennett Ridge Apartments.

When police arrived, they found Brianna Torres, 24, dead from a gunshot wound in her apartment. One of her legs was partially dismembered.

Police arrested the 9-1-1 caller, 24-year-old Rana Sievert at the scene.

“One person was sadly found deceased there on the scene,” said Sgt. Dillon Quirk of the Oklahoma City Police Department.

“The other half who had called the police remained at the scene,” said Quirk.

He said the two women were involved in a romantic relationship. “As it turns out, this was a domestic-related shooting.”

Quirk said a fight between Torres (pictured) and Sievert led to Torres being shot with her own gun.

Sievert told police that she and Torres were drinking and smoking pot when Sievert became “paranoid” and they started fighting.

Sievert confessed to grabbing Torres’ gun from her bedroom and shooting the victim once, killing her.

Police said Sievert waited more than an hour to call 911 after the shooting. At some point, she attempted to cut off one of Torres’ legs with a kitchen knife.

Sievert is charged with first-degree murder and is being held with no bond in the Oklahoma County Detention Center.

Quirk said there could be an additional charge for the partial dismembering of the victim’s leg.

Torres’ murder was Oklahoma City’s 61st homicide of the year.
