Friends are concerned about “sad and lonely” Wendy Williams who rarely leaves her Manhattan penthouse.
A source tells The Sun UK that the reclusive former talk show host rarely sees her closest friends anymore.
The 58-year-old recently cut ties with her only child, Kevin Hunter Jr., who was allegedly stealing from her to finance his lavish lifestyle in Florida.
Kevin’s alleged theft led to financial hardships for his mother. Wells Fargo froze her bank accounts and seized $3 million to stop the thievery from continuing.
A judge appointed a guardian to oversee Wendy’s finances after she threatened to sue Wells Fargo.
Meanwhile, Wendy continues to battle health problems, including Grave’s disease and dementia.
A source says Wendy stays in contact by phone but she rarely leaves her penthouse.
“She’s been calling people saying like ‘Hey, let’s have dinner,’ but she’s acting like all this time hasn’t passed,” the insider told the Sun on Thursday. “It’s this out-of-the-blue call with no update on how she’s doing or anything.”
The friend says Wendy’s memory is failing and she loses track of time.
“When she reaches out, she acts as if we went out to eat last week,” the friend said.
“When you finally do get her to give you an update about how she’s been she goes off into these tangents about being single, looking for love, and all this other stuff,” a second friend of Wendy’s told the Sun.
The friend doubts Wendy’s podcast will ever launch due to her declining mental status.
In November, Wendy told her fans to expect her podcast to launch “in the next few weeks.”
When questioned about the alleged podcast this week, Wendy’s publicist said the podcast is still in development and is “coming soon.”
