Kim Burrell denies she is hospitalized with double pneumonia after singer/actor Tyrese Gibson pleaded with fans for financial support.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, March 4, Tyrese wrote:

“Just three weeks ago mother was in the best of spirits. I just got a call today that brought me to tears stepmother has pneumonia and both of her lungs I’m freaking out I don’t know what to do [sic].”

He asked for prayers and begged for money to help Burrell pay her medical expenses.

“$15,000 to cover whatever medical bills if you know Kim, you have a relationship with her you can’t donate money that’s fine but just please prayer warriors stop everything you doing and send the most sincere and beautiful prayer for the breakthrough that mama Kim can get to the other side of this unexpected health crisis I am worried I’m in tears.”

Gibson and Burrell attended Clive Davis‘ Pre-Grammy bash in Los Angeles, CA. in February.

Fans of the 50-year-old gospel singer took the news hard. As word spread, Burrell took to her Instagram page to deny that she is on her death bed.

“Good late evening. I’m so happy to report that all is well. As most of you know, there’s NOTHING that @tyrese wouldn’t say or do for me. Everybody please relax and continue to pray for my recovery. I love you all.”

As you know, Burrell caught heat last year for her “broke people” sermon. Tamron Hall invited Burrell on her talk show to clear the air.

“There’s a jargon that happens in church… a lingo, certain things we say that we fully understand,” Burrell explained.

“For those who don’t understand it, they’re gonna misinterpret what it means. I’ve been in church too long, I’ve held on to my faith too long to deliberately hurt people.”

Get well soon Kim.
