Lil Wayne abruptly ended his concert in Los Angeles after the audience ignored his artist, Allan Cubas. Wayne wrapped up his “Welcome To Tha Carter” tour with the final stop in L.A.
The crowd went wild when he introduced Young Money rapper Lil Twist, but they totally ignored aspiring rappers Allan Cubas and Yaj Kader.
Cubas performed one track while the crowd milled around and checked their cell phones.
Wayne came out onstage and abruptly ended the show because the crowd wasn’t hype enough. He apologized to Cubas for interrupting his set after just one song.
“We appreciate it, but we ain’t about to be bending over backwards for these folks. We work too hard for this sh*t. We work way too hard. This my motherf*****g artist Allan, that was Twist, that was Yaj. We are Young Money. We appreciate y’all time.”
The crowd stood in stunned silence waiting for the show to continue, but Weezy and his artist never returned.
Disappointed fans took to social media to air their grievances. One fan wrote:
“I will never go to another Lil Wayne concert again after he arrived 3.5 hours late then performed for 30 had intermission put his new artist to perform then came out and canceled the rest of the concert because the crowd wasn’t hype enough for his new artist.”
Question: Was Lil Wayne right to cancel the concert after fans paid their hard-earned money to see him perform?
So let me get this straight…you show up an hour late for a show you're allegedly headlining, do a 30-minute set, cede the stage to people (respectfully) nobody's heard of…and the crowd's not allowed to be just a teeny bit irked?
