Young Thug dropped his new album, Business is Business, from behind bars on Friday. 2 days later, he released a deluxe edition titled Business Is Business (Metro’s Version).
The new edition, also produced by Metro Boomin, features 2 bonus tracks, including “Money” with Nicki Minaj and deceased rapper Juice WRLD.
The album is a smorgasbord of hits and misses. “Money” is among the misses, largely due to the annoying intro which extends throughout the track.
It’s considered bad mojo to feature dead people on new music, as they’re not here to approve or disapprove of the final product. Juice WRLD would probably disapprove of this track.
Young Thug’s verses are old. Nicki, who whispers “Wait…free Thug,” during her verse, says Juice WRLD gave her the song “years ago” while they were in the studio with Thug.
She said they struggled to clear the sample, and the song was shelved for years. However, Thug’s people reached out to her two weeks ago, and she “fell in love” with the track all over again, according to All Hip-Hop.
“Money” was trending No. 1 on Twitter in the United States on Monday.
