A New Jersey judge is under investigation for posting profane and vulgar videos on TikTok. The NJ Judiciary said Bergen County Superior Court Judge Gary Wilcox, 58, exercised “poor judgment” when he shared partially nude videos of himself rapping along to raunchy hip-hop songs.

A formal complaint was filed against Wilcox after he posted footage of himself lip-syncing to songs by Rihanna, Lil Wayne, Nas, Busta Rhymes, Ginuwine and others while partially nude in bed, according to the New York Post.

He allegedly recorded other videos in the courthouse that showed Wilcox wearing his judicial robe.

Wilcox posted 40 TikTok videos under the alias “Sal Tortorella” between April 2021 and March 2023. Some of the videos contained profanity and other raunchy subjects, according to the complaint from the state Supreme Court’s Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct.

In one video, he rapped, “All my life, I’ve been waiting for somebody to whoop my a–. I mean business! You think you can run up on me and whip my monkey a–? Come on. Come on!”

In another video, he sang, “If you want it, let’s do it. Ride it, my pony. My saddle is waitin’, come and jump on it. If you want it, let’s do it.”

Judges are expected to adhere to strict moral and ethical standards in their judicial duties and outside the courthouse.
