Kevin Federline is reportedly considering going to court to ask for a substantial increase in child support from Britney Spears for their youngest son, Jayden James.
Kevin and Britney share two sons, Jayden, 16, and Sean, who turns 18 on Sept. 14.
Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ that Kevin gets $40,000 a month for the boys. The amount is based on each parent having the boys 50% of the time.
According to TMZ, the 45-year-old father-of-six has had his sons full-time since he and Britney agreed on the terms of child support years ago.
The boys don’t speak to their mom and they haven’t seen her in 2 years, according to TMZ.
Kevin’s child support will be cut by $20,000 a month when Sean turns 18 on Thursday. Kevin will still receive $20,000 a month for Jayden until he graduates from high school in 2025.
But it will be difficult for Kevin to support his large family and maintain his lifestyle on just $20,000 a month.
TMZ said the amount could increase if he convinces a judge that he needs more money for 100% of Jayden’s care. Kevin is pictured with Jayden in 2016.
Kevin, his sons, his wife, Victoria, and their two children moved to Hawaii last month. Sources say Kevin moved to Hawaii because child support continues until a child turns 23.
However, according to a revised statute in 2016, child support established in another state has exclusive jurisdiction.
The child support was established in California which takes precedence over Hawaii law.
Kevin and Britney were married in 2004 and divorced in 2007. He also has 2 children with ex Shar Jackson.
