Rapper Bow Wow begged record executives to bring back artist development and stop signing “subpar rappers.”
Bow Wow’s comments came after Kanye West called out Cardi B as an industry plant – a mediocre rapper with major label backing.
In a series of tweets, Bow Wow wrote:
“Do these labels even care about these artist? Y’all be throwing them on platforms knowing they not ready. A boxer is trained and taught before battle. We just keep throwing these subpar ass artist out here with no proper training.”
He continued:
“It’s too many real ones out here on the come up like Symba, West Side Boogie I can name so many more Lady London, Lola like new artist that GOT IT! who deserve the push… but instead … man I’m done even speaking on it haha sh-t be getting me hot.”
Bow Wow seemed to respond to a recent viral video that shows aspiring rapper DDG rapping over his vocals while the audience yawned and checked their phones at a homecoming concert (view video below).
“Stop pushing that BS on us! The fans are waking up and hip hop is about to change for the better,” Bow Wow wrote.
“Stay in the house if you playing and move over and let the real ones play. They can’t talk. I don’t understand wtf they saying. Be dry as hell in interviews. Y’all know I take the stage serious! I don’t even wanna get on they stage presence. Rapping over vocals sh-t is sloppy out here man.”
Watch DDG put the audience to sleep.
