Soldiers at Fort Sill Army base in Lawton, Oklahoma thought it was a good idea to use a HIMARS rocket launcher to shoot candy at small children.
The HIMARS rocket launcher is capable of firing at targets up to 300 kilometres away.
Cell phone video shows Army personnel loading candy into a rocket launcher and firing the candy at children at 60 miles per hour.
Not one soldier seemed concerned that shooting candy at children at high velocity might take a kid’s eye out.
One YouTuber wrote: “The Department of Defense regrets to inform you that your 7-year old was wounded by an 80 mph Snickers.”
Thankfully, none of the children were hurt by the high velocity candy. Maybe next year the soldiers will be more safety conscious and hand out candy to the children.
