Billie Eilish is being cancelled after she accused a Variety magazine reporter of outing her at an event.

In a cover interview for Variety magazine, published on November 13, the Grammy-winning singer said she was attracted to women.

Billie, 21, told Variety: “I’ve never really felt like I could relate to girls very well. I love them so much. I love them as people. I’m attracted to them as people. I’m attracted to them for real.”

At a Variety event on Saturday, Billie was interviewed by a Variety reporter who asked her to clarify her statement about women.

“I’m still scared of ’em, but I think they’re pretty,” Billie giggled.

“Did you mean to come out in the [cover] story?” asked the excited reporter.

Billie laughed off the question:

“Girl. No I didn’t, but I kind of thought wasn’t it obvious? Like it’s kind of been – I didn’t realize people didn’t know.”

Billie’s words were confusing to the LGBT+ community because she has only ever dated men. She quickly lost 120,000 followers.

Fans accused Billie of “queerbaiting” which is defined as a heterosexual who pretends to be gay and flirts with people of the same sex.

Queerbaiting is also known as “gay for pay.”

The next day, Billie took to Instagram to complain that she was outed by Variety’s reporter.

“Thanks Variety for my award and for also outing me on a red carpet at 11am instead of talking about anything else that matters,” she wrote.

“I like boys and girls leave me alone about it please literally who cares stream ‘what was i made for’,” she added.

As far back as 2020, Billie has pretended to be gay while strictly dating men.

Billie is the latest in a long line of celebrities claiming to be LGBT+ when they’re not.
