The jury in the Jonathan Majors domestic assault trial did not reach a verdict on Friday. They will resume deliberations on Monday morning.

Majors is on trial for assaulting his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in the backseat of a rideshare vehicle and also inside the apartment they shared in Manhattan.

He was arrested on March 25 and charged with misdemeanor assault.

Jabbari told police Majors assaulted her in the SUV after she learned he was texting another woman.

When deliberations resumed on Friday, the jury asked to replay Majors’ 911 call the morning after the alleged assault. The jurors also rewatched surveillance video that showed Majors and Jabbari getting out of the SUV.

The video shows Majors forcefully putting Jabbari back into the vehicle. Jabbari alleged that Majors struck her on the back of her head while attempting to push her back into the SUV.

The driver testified that Jabbari was the aggressor. “The girl was hitting the boy. He was trying to get rid of her. He was saying, ‘Leave me alone, I have to go.'”

The driver added: “He was not doing anything. She was doing everything.”

However, the evidence shows Jabbari received serious injuries, including a broken finger.

After the incident in the SUV, Jabbari met three strangers on the street in Manhattan’s Lower East Side and showed them her injuries. The jurors saw a video clip of Jabbari speaking with the three strangers.

At some point, Majors walked past the group and Jabbari pursued him to make sure he was OK, since they had both been drinking that night.

After being invited to a party in Manhattan, Jabbari later returned home and took two sleeping pills to fall asleep.

She awoke to find herself on the floor of the closet in the apartment she shared with Majors. She was unsure how she got there.

Majors called 911 and told a dispatcher he found Jabbari unresponsive on the floor of the walk-in closet when he returned home. He claimed Jabbari overdosed and may have attempted suicide.

NYPD officers arrived and discovered injuries on Jabbari’s body and arrested Majors.

The defense was successful in keeping out testimony of other women allegedly assaulted by Majors over the years.
