Marvel is reportedly considering actor Colman Domingo to replace Jonathan Majors as MCU’s Kang the Conqueror.
According to movie insider Daniel Richtman, “Still early days but I hear Colman Domingo is one option that was brought up to replace Jonathan Majors as Kang.”
The ruggedly handsome Domingo, 54, is best known for his role as Ali in HBO’s Euphoria, for which he won an Emmy Award. He also stars in The Color Purple 2023 and he played Victor Strand in Fear The Walking Dead from 2015-2023.
Domingo has earned nominations for his role as civil rights activist Bayard Rustin in Netflix’s Rustin.
Domingo checks all the diversity boxes; he is openly gay and lives with his life partner, Raúl Domingo.
Domingo is a safe bet for leading man, since more women turned to gay men for love and companionship in 2023.
Since the MCU debuted in 2008 more LGBT+ characters have been introduced. Jonathan was earmarked to be the actor who made it safe for strong Black men to embrace gay characters.
Marvel Studios dumped Jonathan Majors after the troubled actor was found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend last month. His sentencing hearing is set for February 6.
