In 2020, police arrested Cardi B’s close friend, Star Brim, on RICO charges of running a violent street gang.

She accepted a plea deal this week that may land her back in prison.

Star, 32, is one of the most feared gang bangers in New York. Prosecutors say she is the Godmother of the 59 Brims, a faction of the Bloods street gang.

There are reports that “Cardi B” is short for “Cardi Brim.”

Authorities charged Star, born Yonette Respass, in a federal indictment months after she was released from prison on other gang-related charges.

Prosecutors accused Star of ordering gang members to attack two female bartenders at a strip club in New York.

Police also charged Cardi B in that attack, but the rapper took a plea deal and served probation.

Photos on Cardi’s social media pages showed her visiting Star before the gangster’s prison release in 2019.

Star dropped “Brim” and began calling herself “Star Bute” (Star Beauty). She went to Dr. Miami for a BBL and other cosmetic body work.

Star later fell in love with a gang associate and they welcomed a son in 2020.

Star hosted events and popped bottles in nightclubs with Cardi and her former gang associates.

Now Star may be headed back to prison after accepting a plea deal. Her sentencing hearing is later this month, according to RhymeswithSnitch.

As part of her plea deal, Star denounced her gang ties and threw herself on the mercy of the court, Radar Online reported.

She asked that the judge sentence her to probation at home rather than prison time.

Star faces up to 20 years in prison when she’s sentenced later this month.
