Sean Combs didn’t flee the U.S. on his private jet before Homeland Security agents raided his properties in Florida and California on Monday.
TMZ reported that Combs’ private jet – a black Gulfstream called LoveAir – had been tracked to the Caribbean and was on the ground in Antigua.
The report fueled rumors that Combs was tipped off about the raids and fled the country to avoid arrest.
Combs was spotted at a small airport in Miami, Florida around the time of the simultaneous raids.
Video obtained by TMZ shows a worried Combs pacing outside a Customs office at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport on Monday evening.
He was not under arrest and did not appear to be in custody. TMZ reports that Combs was waiting for his entourage who were stopped and questioned by police.
Teams of federal agents and SWAT officers raided Combs’ $35 million mansion on Star Island in Miami and his $40 million estate in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles on Monday.
Combs’s sons Justin Combs and Christian Combs, a.k.a. King, were handcuffed and briefly detained during the raid at the Holmby Hills property.
Homeland Security told CNN they served a warrant at the Holmby Hills location in connection with a s*x trafficking investigation.
Combs quickly settled a $30 million lawsuit filed by his ex Cassie Ventura in December. She accused him of years of abuse and assault.
Douglas Wigdor, lawyer for Cassie Ventura and Jane Doe issued a statement in response to the search warrants served on Combs’s properties on Monday.
“We will always support law enforcement when it seeks to prosecute those that have violated the law,” the statement read. “Hopefully, this is the beginning of a process that will hold Mr. Combs responsible for his depraved conduct.”
Combs faces more lawsuits filed by 3 women and music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones.
According to AllHipHop, a recent communication to a New York judge from Jones’s lawyer, Tyrone A. Blackburn, claimed Combs orchestrated harassment and planted stories about Jones on TMZ.
Blackburn’s statement alleges that Combs’ actions include “dispatching his agents to harass [Jones’] 8-year-old daughter, the mother of his child, and ex-spouses.” Additionally, Combs is accused of trying to get in touch with Jones through unspecified “third parties.”
