Tyler Perry stepped out on Thursday, July 10, to attend the Atlanta screening of his Netflix film Destination Wedding. In the film, Tyler reprises his role as Mabel “Madea” Simmons. Madea and family attend Tiffany’s rushed destination wedding in the Bahamas.

“Brian and his ex-wife Debrah are shocked to learn their daughter Tiffany is engaged to a rapper she met on a yacht — and the wedding is in two weeks.”

Tensions arise as Tiffany has doubts about her fiancé, and her mother begins to act strangely.

According to PEOPLE, Tyler appeared in good spirits at the movie screening. Destination Wedding is currently available to stream on Netflix.

Written and directed by Tyler, Destination Wedding also stars Diamond White, Taja V. Simpson, Xavier Smalls, Cassi Davis, Tamela Mann, David Mann and Jermaine Harris.

Tyler has not publicly addressed a lawsuit filed against him by a former employer, Derek Dixon, who accused Tyler of unwanted sexual advances.

Tyler’s attorney, Matthew Boyd, called the $260 million lawsuit an extortion attempt and a scam.

“This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam,” Matthew Boyd said in a statement.

In his first public statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Derek Dixon said, “Everyone deserves to go to work and do their job without their boss trying to have sex with them. My goal is to help ensure that the next generation of actors and creatives don’t have to choose between their dreams and their dignity.”
