If you waited with heated anticipated for the world premiere of Kanye West’s over ambitious video treatment for his track “Power”, you were among the millions who were hoodwinked and bamboozled by this narcissist.
He said it was a painting, didn’t he?
Last night I was on the phone with a friend as the video premiered on MTV at 11:01 PM. My friend considers himself an unapologetic fan of the troubled producer/rapper.
“Wow. This is hawt!,” he exclaimed excitedly as the strains from the opening seconds of the video emerged from his television in the background.
“Are you watching this? It’s incredible!” he squealed with delight. “Um, no,” I responded. Then he fell silent until about a minute later when I heard him say, “What happened?”
“What happened?” I echoed into the phone.
“It went off!” he answered. “What are you seeing now?” I asked. “Some other ni**as video,” he responded dejectedly.
“Maybe that was just the trailer,” he hoped. But I reminded him that the full video was scheduled to premiere at 11 PM and it was now 11:04 PM.
I couldn’t stop laughing!
