Jay Z’s eldest son Rymir Satterthwaite recently sat down with Radar Online for an exclusive interview.
The 21-year-old New York resident filed a civil lawsuit against the aging 47-year-old rapper accusing him of dodging a process server for years.
Rymir had hoped Jay Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, would acknowledge his paternity publicly. But Jay Z is well-known for avoiding his parental responsibilities to the children he spawned with women other than his wife, Beyonce.
As you know, Jay Z already has a teenage son, Isa, whom he sired with a former video model, and an infant daughter with a woman in Texas — where Beyonce is from.
Rymir told RadarOnline that he and his mother Wanda Rymir “were legally and financially unprepared to deal” with the complexities of the case.
“It was a big case to me because I really wanted to find out who my father was,” said Satterthwaite.
“There was a whole lot of running around,” he added. “We didn’t have enough information to push the case, to keep the case going.”
Apparently, Jay Z decided to put the paternity suit behind him by settling with Rymir and his mother. Afterwards, Jay Z moved his family to California to establish residency out there in anticipation of a paternity suit from the baby mama in Texas.
“It is important that I know who my biological father is because of my mom’s health,” said Rymire, referring to Wanda’s respiratory (asthma) and genetic heart conditions.
“In the future you don’t know what can happen.”
Rymir described his frustration dealing with a father who refuses to acknowledge him publicly. “I get frustrated just like everybody else,” he said. “I get mad at certain times… I try not to get frustrated. I really try not to think about it and go on with my life — anything could happen but I still got to live for myself.”
Rymir plans to use Jay Z’s money to pay his bills and to help his mother who slept with Jay Z when he was still a struggling drug dealer in the Marcy Projects in Brooklyn.
