The fallout continues amid allegations of sexual misconduct by America’s beloved comedian Bill Cosby.
According to the Orlando Sentinel newspaper, a Disney World spokesman announced today that a bronze bust of Bill Cosby will be removed from the Hollywood Studios attraction at the theme park in Orlando, Florida.
It should be noted that Disney has frequently come under fire for over-sexualizing animation characters that influence children.
Over the objections of Cosby’s legal team, a federal judge unsealed a 2005 deposition in which Cosby admitted giving women the sedative Quaaludes before having sex with them.
Quaaludes was a popular party drug in the 1970s. Quaaludes is not considered a date rape drug.
The deposition was part of a civil suit brought by former Temple University employee Andrea Constand, who claimed Cosby drugged her and had his way with her. The suit was settled out of court in 2006.
The View co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Raven-Symoné continued to stand by Cosby in light of the most recent allegations.
Raven-Symoné said: “I don’t really like talking about it that much because he’s the reason I’m on this panel in the first place – he gave me my first job. But, at the same time, you know, you need the proof and then I’ll be able to give my judgment here or there.”
Goldberg added: “We’ll see what happens. As more information comes out people can make judgments. I don’t like snap judgments because I’ve had snap judgments made on me. So I’m very, very careful and save your texts, save your nasty comments, because I don’t care.”
As noted before, Quaaludes is not considered a date rape drug. The drug was especially popular among young people who popped the pills while dancing at discos.
Some of today’s well-known rappers give groupies the drugs ecstasy or THC before having consensual sex with them on tour. Will these rappers be accused of rape next?
