I agree with your sentiment but I suppose it is easier to tell your child they can’t go trick or treating but they can go to church and get candy, opposed to just saying, you’re not going trick or treating–sit down.

Also, there is a mega church that throws a harvest/trunk party where vans/cars have different themes, games and candy. They have bon fires, hot chocolate, smores, crafts, games, hay rides, to say the least.
