State and city authorities raided all 3 locations of Gladys Knight’s popular Chicken and Waffles restaurants in Atlanta on Tuesday.
The AJC.com reports that agents from the Georgia Department of Revenue raided the locations in connection with an investigation by the GDR.
The Atlanta Police Department assisted in the raid, Channel 2 Actions News reported.
Gladys Knight’s son, who runs the franchises, is under investigation in a tax case involving $1 million. Gladys Knight is not under investigation, the AJC reports.
All 3 Chicken and Waffles locations were closed following the raids.
The restaurants will reopen on Thursday under state control, Channel 2 Action News reported.
