Troubled singer Chris Brown lost a major role on 50 Cent‘s hit cable TV drama Power before he allegedly threatened a woman with a gun at his Tarzana home.
The NY Post reports exclusively that the rap mogul promised his pal Brown a major role on his hit Starz show, but network execs put the brakes on the plan, citing Brown’s “anger issues”.
A source close to Brown told the Post’s Page Six, “50 promised Chris a big role on ‘Power,’ playing a drug dealer. But 50 didn’t consult the network first, and execs were not happy when they found out about it.”
The source continued, “The network insisted that Chris’ casting was not going to happen, because of fears about his anger issues. There was a big blowup, and they had to tell Chris he was not going to get the role. The news was delivered to him early Monday. He was livid.”
Brown was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after disgraced beauty queen Baylee Curran called 911 to report he pulled a gun on her when she admired a diamond necklace in his home.
50 Cent showed support for Brown on social media after an 11-hour police standoff outside Brown’s home ended peacefully on Tuesday.
“That’s my boy. I watched him come up, a lot of the shit he go threw is crazy to me. If someone calls 911 and says you pulled a gun on them in your house, are the police coming to create a bunker at the end of your drive way for 11 hours to wait for a search warrant? Then live stream it, This must be VIP Treatment. SMH.”
Brown, 27, was released on $250,000 bail. His accuser, Curran, lost her crown after it was revealed she had a warrant out for her arrest for stealing a Louis Vuitton bag from a woman at a NYC hotel last year.
Despite executives nixing Brown’s role, Fiddy insists his friend will appear on Power.
“Tune into ‘Power’ next season, because you will see Chris Brown,” he told Page Six.
