Doctors in London have been ordered to stop referring to all pregnant women as “mothers” because the term is offensive to transmen — women who believe they are men born in the wrong bodies.
The new rule is included in official guidelines issued by the British Medical Association (BMA) that governs the standards of practice of all doctors in the free National Health Service in England.
NHS doctors are instructed to refer to expectant mothers as “pregnant people” so as not to offend expectant mothers who are “transitioning” to men after they give birth.
The warnings are included in a 14-page booklet titled “inclusive language in the workplace”. The booklet was distributed to 160,000 doctors who are members of the British Medical Association. The BMA also banned the terms “biologically male” and “biologically female”, and instructs doctors to instead say that babies are “assigned” male or female at birth.
The new guidelines were imposed after a British transwoman named Hayden Cross (pictured above) put her sex change operation on hold so she could give birth.
Cross, 20, is celebrated as the first “pregnant man” or the “first transman” to give birth in England.
Doctors in the NHS are ordered to ignore what they know are biological differences between the sexes, and instead cater to mentally confused individuals.
British women’s rights activist Laura Perrins criticized the BMA’s advice as “anti-science, anti-women and anti-mother”.
She says: “As every doctor knows only females can have children. To say otherwise is offensive and dangerous.”
Reverend Philip Egan, warned the new rules would cause “great confusion and harm”. He said: “It is Orwellian, isn’t it? Another example of people trying to control our thoughts and the way we speak.”
The Daily Mail newspaper writes:
“Trans-activists are enjoying huge success in their campaign to re-invent our language so that every aspect [of] our lives becomes ‘gender neutral’ – from pregnancy down to [bathroom] habits.”
The newspaper, which closely monitors the transgender movement in America, notes that, in the U.S., the term “chestfeeding” is gaining acceptance among midwives as an alternative to “breastfeeding” which offends pregnant transmen.
Midwives in America also use terms such as “front-hole” instead of vagina, and “window-birth” rather than caesarean section.
The Daily Mail added: “It is no wonder that many women are angry and upset about the erasure of their identities to the point where they are being told it is transphobic to even use the correct language to describe our reproductive systems”.
