A Florida man is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in a church during a funeral service.
Andre Brown, of Pahokee, is being held without bail on one count of sexual assault of a victim between 12 and 18 years old.
According to AJC.com, the alleged rape occurred in April 2016 during a funeral at a church.
Brown, who knew the girl, reportedly grabbed her by the arm and took her inside a church bathroom, where he locked the door and raped the girl.
The girl didn’t tell anyone about the sexual assault because she feared being blamed for enticing her rapist.
In July, the girl was taken to a doctor by an unidentified person who suspected she might be pregnant. A doctor confirmed the pregnancy, and the girl told police about the assault by Brown.
Brown was taken into custody this week after the girl delivered her baby and a DNA test proved the paternity.
Brown denies raping the girl.
